Kris Boyd has warned Celtic against appointing Eddie Howe as their new manager, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.
Former Rangers striker Boyd, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that lack of experience of managing a club as big as Celtic could see Howe fail.
According to The Scottish Sun, the former Bournemouth manager has agreed a deal in principle to succeed Neil Lennon as the permanent Celtic manager.
Boyd wrote about Howe in The Scottish Sun: “Howe did a good job at Bournemouth — but there is no comparison with Glasgow and the intensity of working in that environment. Does Howe know what he’ll be letting himself in for?
“Is he prepared for the expectation and intense level of scrutiny he’ll be under It’s one thing to say his teams play good football, but when it comes to the cut and thrust of life at the Old Firm — when titles are at stake — that comes a poor second behind getting three points.
“Mogga (Tony Mowbray) had been a Celtic player, but he didn’t get that. His head was in the clouds when he was manager and my worry is that Howe could be the same football fantasist.”

Does Kris Boyd have a point?
Boyd does raise an interesting point. Howe was a massive success when he was in charge of Bournemouth, and the former Premier League manager is rated highly in the English game.
Celtic are a much bigger club than Bournemouth, and the pressure on Howe will be massive in Scotland.
However, the Englishman is a very good manager who knows how to build teams, as he showed at Bournemouth.
Celtic have had a torrid time this season, and they need someone who can build the team back again.
Howe is only 43, and a young manager with fresh ideas could be beneficial to the Bhoys.
