Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ryan Mason has delivered an update on the fitness of Harry Kane.
The striker suffered an injury against Everton a fortnight ago, but he was recalled for Spurs’ most important game of the season in the Carabao Cup final against Man City.
Kane didn’t seem to be 100 per cent during the final, but Mason insists that he’s absolutely fine.
“Harry was fine in terms of his injury. He was disappointed like all of us. Harry is a top professional like the group are,” Mason said.
This is absolutely brilliant to hear if you’re a Tottenham fan.
Kane will have to be on form for the remainder of the season if Spurs are going to make a late push for the top four, while he’ll also have the Golden Boot in his sights on a personal level.
The game against Sheffield United this weekend represents a great chance for Kane to extend his lead at the top of the Premier League scoring charts, and Spurs will certainly be hoping that he’s back amongst the goals against the Blades.
Fingers crossed Kane’s injury worries are well and truly behind him, especially with England’s European Championship campaign starting in just a couple of months’ time.
