Arsenal may have been handed a boost to sign Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich this summer, as the German club stumble over a new contract with the player.

Bayern president, Herbert Hainer, had admitted that ‘unfortunately we haven’t reached an agreement yet’ for the Arsenal transfer target.

The 26-year-old has one year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena and he, either pens a new deal or they risk losing him for nothing next summer.

Given that is a possibility, it might force the German champions to sell their goalscoring winger this summer, there is talk that they want to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool.

Arsenal, who let Gnabry go to Werder Bremen at the age of 21, are one of a number of clubs that are keen to sign up his talents if he is sold.

Well, as quoted by transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners might have been handed a potential boost given the comments from Bayern’s president.

“We’ve been in talks with Serge for a long time,” said Hainer. “Unfortunately, we haven’t reached an agreement yet.

“There are different expectations, but we’re working on it”

GNABRY RETURN WOULD ELEVATE ARSENAL ATTACK

Arsenal are well aware that they made a mistake in letting Gnabry go given what he has gone on to produce in his career, including winning the Champions League, with Rio Ferdinand labelling the player ‘world-class’.

It has to be remembered that when they did let him go, he wasn’t exactly lighting things up, he did struggle in the colours of West Brom during his loan spell at the Hawthorns.

So, from that perspective, it’s easy to say criticise Arsenal for selling him because not many were shouting from the rooftops back in 2016.

But, if the 17-goal forward returns to Arsenal, then he will elevate Mikel Arteta’s XI, including adding some much-needed goals to the forward line, especially with Alexandre Lacazette leaving for Lyon.
