Spurs are the only undefeated team remaining in the Premier League heading into the international break.

After last season’s impressive late title charge and ultimate third-placed finish, the question on most people’s lips surrounding Tottenham Hotspur was whether they would be able to build upon that promise.
We may only be less than two months into the new season, but Spurs appear to be answering those queries in emphatic style.
Sunday’s 2-0 win over Manchester City leaves them as the only remaining unbeaten Premier League side heading into the international break.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has received great praise from all corners of English football for the way he has transformed Spurs into apparent genuine title contenders.
Here, in pictures, is a look at the Argentine manager’s season so far.

Pochettino and his side had to overcome adversity on the opening day of the season, falling a goal behind at Everton after just five minutes, before things were made worse when Hugo Lloris had to be substituted after just 35 minutes with an injury.
However, Erik Lamela equalised after half-time to ensure Spurs left Goodison Park with a point as a solid foundation for the campaign.

Seven days later, in the home opener at White Hart Lane, one of Pochettino’s summer signings came up trumps to secure a first win of the season.

Central midfielder Victor Wanyama, signed from Poch’s former club Southampton, broke the deadlock to head home the winner against Crystal Palace eight minutes from time.

That was followed by an intriguing match-up with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, and like on the opening day Pochettino’s men showed great strength of character to come from 1-0 down to maintain their unbeaten start thanks to Danny Rose’s second-half strike.

The first set-back of the season for Pochettino came in the Champions League opener at Wembley.
Spurs fell two goals behind after half an hour against AS Monaco, and despite Toby Alderweireld pulling one back on the stroke of half-time, and the second-half introduction of £17 million summer signing Vincent Janssen, Pochettino would taste defeat for the first time this season.

In the Premier League, however, Spurs responded well with back-to-back victories over Stoke City and Sunderland, and they continued that streak at the Riverside against Middlesbrough thanks to the revitalised Heung-min Son.

The South Korean scored two fine goals to secure a 2-1 win in a game which was also notable for summer signing Georges-Kevin Nkoudou making his Premier League debut from the bench.

Pochettino then took his side on the long trip to Moscow as they looked to recover from their Monaco defeat and get their European campaign off and running.

Spurs did just that, as Son again came up with the goods to secure an impressive 1-0 win at the home of CSKA Moscow.

Then, on Sunday, came Pochettino’s biggest challenge of the season against his former cross-Barcelona rival Pep Guardiola and an unbeaten Manchester City.

In the end, it was Pochettino’s Spurs who prevailed with a huge statement of intent, winning 2-0 at White Hart Lane to inflict a first City defeat on Guardiola and extend their own unbeaten league start to the season to seven games.
