Fabrizio Romano has tipped Arsenal as his favourites to win the Premier League after the Gunners’ 4-2 win against Aston Villa over the weekend, with Manchester City dropping points against Nottingham Forest.
Speaking to CaughtOffisde, the Italian transfer guru revealed that Mikel Arteta’s side are still his favourite to win the title, with Romano also noting that Manchester United are also in the race having won 3-0 against Leicester City on Sunday.
Romano said: “All three of Arsenal, Man City and Man United are in the title race, in my opinion. This year the title race is really amazing and I’m sure it will be until the final 1/2 games of the Premier League. I think City will be there until the end to fight, but I still see Arsenal as favourites; I love their mentality.”
Arsenal have led the Premier League standings for the majority of the season and have been many neutral’s favourites to win their first title in almost 20 years, and Romano is now sold that the north London side could go all the way under Arteta.

With one of the youngest squads in the division, Arsenal reclaimed top spot this weekend with a dramatic win at Villa Park following two goals in stoppage claim to a 4-2 victory, with Forest also doing the Gunners a favourite in Notthingham by holding City to a draw.
Indeed, with Arsenal now two-points clear and with a game in hand to play, Arteta’s side are firmly in the driving seat for the Premier League title, and Romano’s backing speaks volume over just how far this team can go this season and in the years to come.
Fabrizio Romano backing should give Arsenal hope in the title race

Arsenal’s recent form has caused some concerns that the Premier League giants didn’t have the mettle or the mentality to go all the way. However, their win against Villa on Saturday more than put these concerns to bed, with the comeback one of the best results the Gunners have earned this season.
Whilst there’s still a long way to go, Romano’s backing is a testament to how good this Arsenal squad are and how far they can go under Arteta, who can make history by winning the Premier League with the north London side this campaign.
