Speaking on the Die for Three Points Podcast, Neil Warnock has been discussing Liverpool and their slow start to the season.

It’s no secret that the Reds have been below par this term. They sit firmly in mid-table, and their recent losses to Leeds and Nottingham Forest have been nothing short of embarrassing.

There has been plenty of talk about Jurgen Klopp potentially being under a bit of pressure to turn things around at Anfield, but Warnock isn’t buying into that, stating that the only pressure Klopp is under is coming from himself.

Klopp pressurising himself

Warnock discussed the Liverpool boss.

“Klopp is under pressure. Well he’s not under pressure, but he’s under pressure himself to himself. In his own mind he’s under pressure because he wants to win. He’s a winner, he’s used to that, he’s not used to seeing so many chances without a goal, so he’s under a learning curve,” Warnock said.

Hard not to

Jurgen Klopp does look like a man who is feeling pressure, and while that pressure may all be internal, it’s hard not to put yourself under that level of scrutiny.

The German is used to absolutely dominating and winning every single week, but this season it’s all going wrong for him and his team.

You can understand why he may be getting a bit worked up about his team’s fortunes. After all, his number one goal is to win major trophies with Liverpool.

Yes, Klopp is under pressure within his own mind, but he won’t be able to relax until he’s righted the wrongs of this season so far.
