Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-min Son has told BT Sport that he is in the best form of his life but has insisted that he still feels he has more to give.
Son has been perhaps Spurs’ single most impressive performer in recent weeks, kickstarting his White Hart Lane career and proving that Mauricio Pochettino has been right to hand him more opportunities.
The Korean has scored five goals already in all competitions this season, and has transformed himself from a frustrating fringe player to a star man.
He played nearly the full 90 minutes against his former club Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night as Spurs drew 0-0 in their third Champions League game.
When asked by BT Sport before that game if he is in the best form of his life, Son replied: “Yeah I think so. I think this may be just confidence, I’m playing with confidence. Everyone is behind me, the gaffer is behind me, the coaching staff and the Spurs fans are behind me. I’m just happy to play for Spurs.
“I’m really enjoying this time but this is not finished, I want to play better than this. Our squad is unbelievable, we have so many good players I think we make each other better.”
Son will be desperate to continue his rich vein of form after an underwhelming first campaign in England, and so too will Spurs fans be keen to see him keep up his exploits.
Spurs return to action this weekend as they face Bournemouth away from home in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
