West Ham United captain Declan Rice has vented his frustration at the ease at which Josh Dasilva scored for Brentford. The midfielder struck the Bees’ second in a 2-0 win on Friday.
Ivan Toney (18’) broke the deadlock as Brentford won away at West Ham. The striker then turned provided in the 43rd minute to find Dasilva and condemn David Moyes’ squad to a fifth-straight Premier League defeat. The Irons are also now 17th in the table on 14 points.

Brentford claimed their early lead at the London Stadium after Mathias Jorgensen flicked on Mathias Jensen’s straightforward throw-in. Lukasz Fabianski would then save Christian Norgaard’s resulting shot but the ball fell kindly for Toney, who reacted first to stab home.

Another simple throw-in would also lead to Dasilva doubling the Bees’ lead on the verge of half-time. Toney received possession near the halfway line and opened West Ham up with an artless ball over the top. Dasilva outmuscled Aaron Cresswell before slotting the ball in.
Dasilva breezed past Cresswell with the left-back pushed aside without any real challenge. But the issues were far greater from a West Ham perspective having not put any pressure on Toney, either. Angelo Ogbonna had rushed out from centre-half but he arrived too late.

Josh Dasilva’s goal for Brentford left West Ham captain, Declan Rice, fuming
Ogbonna’s burst towards Toney left Dasilva the space to streak through West Ham, score for Brentford and frustrate Rice. The Irons skipper fumed at full-time at the ease at which the Hammers let the Bees score. Moyes’ men are also now one point from the drop zone.
“It’s really frustrating, we highlighted throw-ins as a strength of theirs,” Rice grumbled, via BBC Sport. “Their second one: one throw, one ball over [the] top and it’s in [the] net. In all my time at West Ham, we haven’t conceded a goal as easy as that.”
West Ham have now won just one of their last eight Premier League fixtures after Rice and co failed to stop Brentford. Their only win in that run came against AFC Bournemouth back on October 24. They will next face another relegation rival in Leeds United come January 4.
