Speaking on ESPN, Steve Nicol has been discussing Liverpool’s need to sign new midfielders and who he would bring to the club if he was in charge of transfers.
Liverpool need to revamp their midfield in the summer transfer window, and Nicol has now given his verdict on who the club should bring in.
Unsurprisingly, Nicol says he would take Jude Bellingham at Liverpool in a heartbeat, while he also urged his former club to go out and sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton as he continues his ascent into superstardom.

Nicol wants Caicedo and Bellingham
The pundit spoke about two signings he’d like to make.
“£250m so I can get what? Two proper players? I would take Bellingham in a heartbeat, there’s £100m gone. Caicedo from Brighton, there’s £60m too. That leaves me with £90m. We need a centre-half, but if Konate can stay fit,” Nicol said.
Transformative
Signing Caicedo and Bellingham would certainly help transform Liverpool back into the force they once were.
Right now, the Reds are lacking a huge amount of quality and mobility in the middle of the park, and until that issue is addressed, the Merseyside club will drop points and lose big games.
Luckily, there are players out there, such as Bellingham and Caicedo, but, of course, signing players of that sort of quality is easier said than done.
Let’s see whether or not Liverpool are given the sort of transfer budget needed to make thse kind of transformative signings this summer.
