
Some Liverpool fans on social media have been drawing comparisons between Andy Robertson and James Milner after the Scot expressed his desire to retire at Anfield.
Robertson said that he would love to play out the rest of his career at the Merseyside club, but he said he’s worried about his ability to keep his level of performance at such a high standard.
Liverpool fans believe that Robertson needn’t worry about his performance levels dropping due to the immense fitness the Scot has, stating that he could be in a similar mould to James Milner where he doesn’t slow down with age.
Milner is reportedly still one of the fittest players at Liverpool, dominating the pre-season physical tests year in, year out, and Reds supporters believe that Robertson should have no trouble following in his footsteps.
One supporter even stated that he expects Robertson to still be playing at the top level in 10 years’ time, and while you rarely see a 37-year-old left-back, we have to admit that if any player could keep going until that age, it’s Robertson.
