Andrea Radrizzani, Owner of Leeds United looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

Imre Varadi gave his take on Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani’s recent comments on the players on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6:53pm, March 16, 2018).

In an interview with talkSPORT earlier this week, Leeds chairman Radrizzani was hugely critical of the players.

The Italian businessman stated that the players lacked commitment, passion and spirit during the Championship match against Middlesbrough away from home at the Riverside Stadium on March 2.

Radrizzani added that he does not want players at Leeds who do not show passion and commitment.

Former Leeds forward Varadi, 58, thinks that the chairman made the comments to spark a reaction from the players for today’s match.

Criticism justified

Radrizzani’s comments were very strong, but Leeds fans will agree with his analysis.

The performances of many of the players in recent weeks have been hugely disappointing, which is why the Whites are virtually out of the running for the Championship playoffs this season.
