Some Arsenal fans on social media have been raving over Nicolas Pepe after his performance against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
The Ivorian has received a lot of criticism ever since he joined Arsenal due to the fact he’s failed to live up to his £72m price tag, but in recent weeks he’s looked a much improved player.
Pepe certainly looked at his best against Palace, netting a decisive goal, taking his league tally for the season to eight.
Interestingly, Pepe showed up against Crystal Palace and Wilfried Zaha, a player who Arsenal did look to sign before splashing out a club-record fee on the former Lille man.
Gunners supporters, who have often been on the winger’s back, were more than happy to concede that he looked like a man transformed against the Eagles, and we can understand why.
Pepe was arguably the club’s Man of the Match and this performance could prove to be massive for Arsenal as they now have an outside chance of finishing above north London rivals Tottenham after their loss to Aston Villa.
