Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has been discussing Takumi Minamino’s attitude and improvement since joining Liverpool.
Minamino hasn’t had it easy since joining the Reds. Almost as soon as he arrived in England the country was put into a lockdown, and the arrival of Diogo Jota just six months later meant that he quickly slipped down the pecking order.
Minamino is one of the lesser-used players in the Liverpool squad, but according to Klopp he turns up to training with the right attitude every day, with the German describing his showings at Kirkby as ‘incredible’.
What’s been said?
Klopp spoke about Minamino.
“It’s one of the hardest things I have to do at the moment. Taki isn’t involved and it’s really hard because the last thing he deserves is not being involved. He trains incredible, it’s just the team, and since Taki came here he’s improved a lot and the way he deals with these setbacks are insane and there are setbacks from not being involved, but he never gives up and he always stays positive,” Klopp said.

Tough
Takumi Minamino isn’t a bad footballer by any stretch of the imagination, but the sad reality is that it’s almost impossible to break into this Liverpool team.
The Reds’ attack is absolutely stacked, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were already stars when Minamino arrived and the signings of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have only strengthened the Merseyside club in that department.
Sadly, Minamino will probably never be a regular for Liverpool, but given that he’s impressed Klopp so much, the winger may well have a promising future in the Premier League.
