Aston Villa have signed Matt Targett from Southampton.

Aston Villa sealed a deal for Southampton left-back Matt Targett this week, BBC Sport reported.
The 23-year-old’s move to the Saints cost £11.5 million, The Express and Star reported.
Targett could be an astute signing, he is hoping to get enough game time to establish himself as a regular at Villa Park.
What he showed last season in 21 starts for Southampton was impressive.
Statistics show Targett was one of the Premier League’s most creative full-backs.
Whoscored.com posted: “Of all full-backs to start ten or more Premier League matches only Lucas Digne (2.2), Kieran Trippier (1.9) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (1.8) created more chances per 90 minutes than Targett last season (1.7).”
Targett’s performances were not as regular as Digne, Trippier and Alexander-Arnold, as he only got game time as Ryan Bertrand was out injured.

Alexander-Arnold is now a Champions League winner, and Targett’s creativity sits him in good company.
A full season at Villa could have Southampton rueing letting him leave.
The full-back market is seeing a spike in prices over the last few years, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka moving last week for £50 million, and Kyle Walker £54 million two summers ago.
At just £11.5 million, Villa may have landed an absolute bargain in Targett.
