Speaking on the Where’s Jeff? Podcast, Phil Thompson has been speaking about Tottenham’s fantastic start to the season, reserving special praise for Steven Bergwijn.

The Dutch winger has been on top form so far this term, and while he’s yet to score a goal, he’s been a constant threat going forward with his pace and dribbling ability sparking a number of counter-attacks for Spurs.

Thompson has been very impressed by Bergwijn, and he’s given him a rave review.

What’s been said?

Thompson was speaking about Bergwijn.

“I’ll tell you a player who has impressed me quite a little bit, is Bergwijn. He’s looking like the player Spurs thought they were getting. His performances these first three games, he’s really turned it on,” Thompson said.

Like a new signing

Bergwijn’s resurgence under Nuno Espirito Santo has been brilliant.

The winger has played a massive part in the London club’s surge to the top of the table and he’s been like a new signing.

Bergwijn struggled to find his feet in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho, but now he’s really settled in.

Tottenham’s attack could be very frightening this season once Harry Kane gets back into his groove alongside Heung-Min Son and Steven Bergwijn.
