‘Impossible’: Ibrahima Konate says two Liverpool players are just ‘different’ in training

Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Ibrahima Konate has been chatting about Sadio Mane and Mo Salah in Liverpool training.

The centre-back has the unenviable task of trying to defender against Salah and Mane on a daily basis, and as you can imagine, it’s not easy.

Konate says that the pair are unlike anything else he’s ever seen before, claiming that their pressing is amazing and some of the things they pull off are impossible.

What’s been said about Salah and Mane?

Konate spoke about the pair in training.

“Here, just in training when you train against Sadio or Mo, you know they have a lot of experience, it’s different,” says Konate.

“Sometimes when you have the ball, how they will press you it’s amazing, it’s impossible, [he] takes the ball and finishes, it’s a goal. I say, ‘OK, I have to be focused every time, every second, every minute.’

“It’s like that to work and I think this is a player for the level of the final of the Champions League. If you train with them every day, of course you will grow and grow and you will be better every day.”

We certainly don’t envy Konate in this situation.

Could you imagine going into work every day and competing against two of the best in the world? No matter what sphere you’re in that must be frustrating.

However, it is good to hear that Konate recognises the challenge ahead of him, and he’s well aware that he has to be focused whenever he’s against Salah or Mane at Kirkby.

Liverpool’s squad are seemingly pushing each other to be better, and we can only hope that Konate can continue to improve and step up to the incredibly high standards set by Salah and Mane.
