Steve Nicol has said on ESPN FC that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota may not be happy next season if he is not playing regularly.
The Liverpool legend believes that Portugal international forward Jota could miss out on a place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup.
Mohamed Salah is guaranteed a start on the right of the front-three, and you would expect Darin Nunez to play down the middle following his move this summer.
Luis Diaz was superb on the left in the second half of last season.
Steve Nicol on Liverpool forward Diogo Jota
Nicol said about Jota on ESFN FC: “Will he be happy as a super-sub? I would expect not.
“In his mind, if I am him, I am thinking, ‘This is a big game for me because I don’t want to be coming off the bench all the time’. So I think this is an important year for him.”

Taking his chances
In our view, Diogo Jota has to take his chances when he gets them at Liverpool.
We have seen the £41 million (BBC Sport) star score some important and brilliant goals, especially with his head.
Salah, Nunez and Diaz will probably start the new campaign as the front-three, but it is a long season and Jota will get chances.
If the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star bangs in a few goals, then he will make it really hard for Klopp to leave him out of his starting lineup.
Jota has scored 40 goals and created 22 big chances in 121 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley has predicted that Manchester City will win the Premier League title again next season.
Burnley said on ESPC FC: “I don’t think it (Darwin Nunez) will be a bad signing, I think it will be an excellent signing, but I have more confidence that Haaland will come in and hit the ground running.
“And so for that reason, it’s difficult to see past a narrow Man City title again, with Liverpool pushing them hard.”
