According to Calciomercato, Everton are interested in signing Sami Khedira, who is out of favour under Andrea Pirlo at Juventus.
Carlo Ancelotti should know all about the German, having managed the Stuttgart-born midfielder for two years from 2013 to 2015.
In that time, the pair conquered Europe together, lifting Real Madrid’s tenth Champions League trophy with a win over Atletico Madrid in 2014.
In that same year, Ancelotti heaped praise on the 33-year-old.
Speaking to Spanish radio station RNE (via Sky Sports), the Italian said: ‘The club wants him (Khedira) to sign a contract extension. We consider him a reliable player, who is serious and professional.’

Ancelotti has also described the World Cup winner as ‘important’ in the past, in quotes supplied by Goal.
‘Khedira and Illarra are important players to be used during the season.’
We may be six years on from these comments, although it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Ancelotti still trusts Khedira and truly wants his experience and vast qualities at Everton.

The Champions League-winning midfielder hasn’t played a single minute of football under Pirlo this season, and German outlet Bild state that he is thinking of leaving in January.
The Toffees boss has already shown a willingness to be reunited with his old stars after bringing James Rodriguez to Goodison Park over the summer.
Of course, Khedira is a few years older than the Colombian, although in our view, this transfer news could well have legs given the pair’s history together.
