Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Callum Wilson has named Michail Antonio as the one player he’d like to see Newcastle sign from West Ham.

Wilson, of course, hosts this podcast alongside Antonio on a weekly basis, and given both players’ club allegiances, they were asked to pick a player from the others’ squad to bring to their respective teams.

Antonio said that he’d like to have Allan Saint-Maximin at West Ham, but Wilson was a bit more diplomatic, picking Antonio himself, joking that he’d be a really good player to bring off of the bench.

Newcastle could use Antonio

Wilson stated that he wouldn’t mind having Antonio as an impact sub at Newcastle.

“Yeah, if I am picking someone from West Ham I’m probably picking Michail just because he can have an impact from the bench. We could do with a bit of strength on the pitch you know so we’ll take him off the West Ham bench and bring him onto our bench,” Wilson said.

Dynamic

Wilson was semi-kidding when he picked Antonio due to the fact that he is his fellow podcast host, but in all honesty, this would be a decent signing.

Indeed, with Allan Saint-Maximin and Alexander Isak already in the frontline, the addition of Antonio would give the Magpies one of the most dynamic attacks in England.

All three players have bags of pace, and while Saint-Maximin and Isak have all sorts of skill, Antonio’s directness would give the attack a different weapon.

There is more than one way to skin a cat, and Antonio would provide Newcastle, or any team for that matter, with a fantastic plan B from the bench.
