Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Middlesbrough 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
A new-look Wolverhampton Wanderers side kicked off their Championship campaign with an impressive 1-0 victory over title favourites Middlesbrough at Molineux.
Not only did Wolves have a new man in the dugout in Nuno Espirito Santo, but they were also equipped with a host of new signings having brought in John Ruddy, Will Norris, Ryan Bennett, Roderick Miranda, Willy Boly, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, Barry Douglas, Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini.

It was one of those new signings who made the difference against Middlesbrough, as Brazilian striker Bonatini pounced on a sloppy pass from Middlesbrough defender Daniel Ayala to slot the ball into the net.
Wolves managed to close out the game and claim all three points on the opening weekend of the season, with goalkeeper John Ruddy producing a key save from Britt Assombalonga to preserve his clean sheet.
A number of Wolves’ new signings impressed, such as Ruddy, Douglas, Neves and Bonatini, but it was central defender Willy Boly who appeared to capture the hearts of Wolves fans with his performance.
A summer signing on loan from Portuguese giants Porto, giant French defender Boly – who stands at 6ft 3in tall – has previously turned out for Auxerre and Braga, but the 26-year-old is now looking to make an impact for Wolves.

After the final whistle against Middlesbrough, Wolves fans took to Twitter to hail Boly, claiming that he was ‘immense’ and ‘top drawer’, as well as man of the match and even a man mountain after his impressive display.
Others even predict that Boly will become a cult hero and fan favourite at Molineux, with supporters raving about the centre back’s first ever performance in the Championship.
