Tottenham Hotspur’s Davinson Sanchez handled himself well against the world’s best this morning.

Tottenham Hotspur and neutral fans were left drooling over Davinson Sanchez’s performance for Colombia on Sunday morning.

The Colombians kicked off their Copa America campaign in style by beating South American giants 2-0.

The likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero couldn’t find a way through and much of that is down to the Tottenham centre-back, who kept the duo – especially Messi – on a short leash.

Sanchez only turned 23 last week and it’s scary to think how good the Spurs defender could be in a few short years, if he’s already at this level.

Sanchez is the North Londoners’ most expensive signing of all time following his £42.5 million switch from Ajax two years ago.

But he might not hold that record for much longer, with Sky Sports claiming on Saturday that Tottenham remain confident of signing £70 million Giovani Lo Celso – who faced Sanchez this morning – from Real Betis.
