Some Leeds United fans on social media have been raving over the performance of Pascal Struijk against Southampton on Wednesday evening.
Leeds continued their fine form as they beat the Saints 2-0 in what was a very convincing performance, and Struijk was arguably the Whites’ Man of the Match.
Leeds kept yet another clean sheet against the south coast outfit, and Struijk looked incredible in the holding midfield role, a position he’s struggled in at times this season.
The youngster is naturally a centre-half, but against Southampton he had to fill-in for Kalvin Phillips, and it’s fair to say that he took to the role like a duck to water.
Struijk has had his problems when playing in the midfield this season, famously being subbed off after just 20 minutes against Aston Villa earlier this term, but it seems as though a lot of hard-work on the training ground has seen him grow into an adept defensive midfield player.
