Some Everton fans on social media have been raving over the performance of Allan against West Brom on Thursday evening.
The Toffees weren’t at their best as they laboured to just a 1-0 win against a struggling West Brom side, but even then, they can count themselves a little lucky.
Indeed, West Brom had a few decent chances, and on another day, they probably would have found the back of the net with one of the opportunities they created, while their disallowed goal was more than a bit contentious.
Luckily, Everton managed to wrestle back control of the game in the second half when Allan was introduced as a substitute.
The Brazilian came on and immediately acted as a calming influence in the middle of the park, breaking up play and keeping things ticking over.
Usually, that side of the game goes unnoticed by fans and pundits, but supporters on social media were well aware of the impact Allan had on the game.
