Martin Keown has raved about Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko on talkSPORT (12:52pm, March 3, 2023) and believes that he has been “immense” for the Gunners so far this season.

The Arsenal legend has been hugely impressed by Zinchenko, who joined the Gunners from defending champions Manchester City in the summer of 2022.

The talkSPORT pundit thinks that the 26-year-old Ukraine international, who can operate as a left-back or as a midfielder, has been “amazing” for Arsenal so far this campaign.

Zinchenko starts at left-back for Mikel Arteta’s side, but the former City star often drifts into midfield during matches and makes the Gunners’ play more intricate.

So far this season, the 26-year-old has made 17 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners.

Zinchenko has scored one goal and given two assists in those matches.

Keown said: “Zinchenko has been amazing, immense.”

Big player for the Gunners

What Oleksandr Zinchenko has done is enhance the quality of Arsenal’s play and has made the Gunners more fascinating to watch.

We know that Kieran Tierney is a brilliant ‘traditional’ left-back who can run up and down the flanks and can put in brilliant crosses.

However, the Scotland international does not have the quality to move into midfield and make Arsenal better in the middle of the park.

Zinchenko can, which is why he has been such a brilliant addition to the Arsenal team.
