Tottenham Hotspur fans are excited after seeing pictures of Antonio Conte working intensively with Dele Alli in training.
Dele Alli’s comeback starts now?
Alli is yet to feature under the new Tottenham boss, but Conte has already spoken about how highly he regards the attacking midfielder.
The last two years have been difficult for the Spurs man though, as he has failed to find any sort of form.
Initially when Jose Mourinho came in Alli did seem to be back to his best, but his performances quickly dipped.
By the end of Mourinho’s time in charge Alii seemed to be completely frozen out and it was a similar story under Nuno.
The 25-year-old was in Nuno’s plans to begin with, but after limited impact he was dropped and struggled to break back into Tottenham’s team.
Alli does at least have two weeks to work with Conte on the training ground now.
And pictures of the pair working together at Hotspur Way have excited some Spurs fans, who still believe that Alli could come good.
Big season ahead
It seems strange to say that Alli may well have peaked in his early 20’s, but that is becoming a real concern now.
Alli wasn’t able to show his best in the latter stages of Mauricio Pochettino’s reign and he has struggled under both Mourinho and Nuno.
Time is now running out for Alli to get back into Spurs’s team.
He will surely need to start performing to a higher standard if he is to remain at Spurs in the long-term.
And if he can’t force his way into Conte’s plans this term then his future will surely come into question in the summer.
