It seems as though Leeds fans will do everything in their power to try and ensure their club sign, Ben White, again and their latest attempt has resulted in a number of opposition fans providing a reaction.

#FreeBenWhite has been trending on Twitter in recent days and a Leeds fan decided to take a banner to Brighton’s ground, with those very words written on it and put it up on their gates.

It has sparked a reaction from rival fans who believe it is both funny and embarrassing that Leeds fans are pushing to such lengths to try and sign the centre-back.

It is very understandable as to why White is so popular with the Elland Road faithful. He played a huge part in the club the returning to the promised land after 16 years – and that in itself has put his name into their legendary books.

BBC Sport recently reported that Brighton have told the champions of the Championship that White is not for sale – it says that the ball-playing defender is part of the Seagulls long-term plans.

Even with such reports emerging, the Leeds fans are going to make sure they do everything in their power to try and increase their chances of signing him.

At the end of the day, money talks and it wouldn’t be a surprise if it does in this instance, even if Brighton are so determined to keep hold of their man.

Regardless of what happens, Premier League fans are seeing just how much noise Leeds fans can make because they have been a sleeping giant in England’s lower leagues for far too long.

And whatever fans think, at least they are entertaining. Here is a selection of fans reacting to the #FreeBenWhite banner:
