It feels like we haven’t seen Virgil van Dijk on a football pitch for ages, but the good news is that the Liverpool defender’s recovery from injury seems to be going well.
The centre-back was ruled out after suffering a ligament injury against Everton earlier this season, and with the Merseyside Derby once again upon us, the Dutchman has been spotted amping up his recovery.
Indeed, the former PFA Player of the Year was pictured doing some ball work at the AXA Training Ground, and it seems as though he’s really stepping up his recovery, doing some ball work at the training ground after being pictured kicking a ball for the first time since his injury in Dubai last month.
This is great to see, and hopefully it’s an indication that van Dijk will be back sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a date set for his likely return, and it is thought that he may well be out for the remainder of the season, but it’s still good to see him taking positive steps on his road to recovery.
