Cody Gakpo will officially become a Liverpool player on January 1st 2023.
Indeed, the Dutch winger will become the Reds’ first signing of the January transfer window after his imminent arrival was announced this week.
Everything involved in this deal is done. The agreement has been announced by both clubs and all that is left is for the transfer window to officially open so that Gakpo can officially become a Liverpool player.
The Dutch attacker has wasted no time in preparing for this move though, and on Friday night he was pictured at Anfield casting an eye over his future teammates.

Gakpo was spotted watching the game from the stands on Friday, and it’s fair to say that his teammates didn’t make the best of first impressions.
Indeed, Liverpool were not at their best against Leicester. They won the game 2-1, but their victory came courtesy of two own goals.
Gakpo must’ve been licking his lips watching Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain struggling down the left flank for Liverpool knowing that he will easily be able to usurp the Ox and claim that spot in this team upon his arrival.
One thing Gakpo may well have been impressed by is the famous Anfield atmosphere. Liverpool fans, as ever, were in full voice on Friday evening and it’s impossible to not immediately fall in love with that sort of support.
Gakpo will likely get his first taste of playing at Anfield next weekend as Liverpool face Wolves in an FA Cup clash that could see this young man pull on a red shirt for the very first time.
