Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to reveal their concerns over one thing after Douglas Luiz made his debut for Brazil on Friday evening.
The Villa fans on Twitter are worried that Manchester City will activate their buyback clause and take the midfielder away from Villa Park, after he gained international experience for one of football’s biggest nations.
It was Pep Guardiola’s side who sold Luiz to Dean Smith for £15 million, but the Citizens also included a £25 million buyback clause in the deal according to The Sun.
They have one more year to activate the option, which expires next summer.
The Sun also mention that work permit issues stopped the former Girona man from playing for City.

Luiz – who Spotrac say earns £32,873-a-week – made 36 Premier League appearances last season as Villa narrowly avoided the drop, and his star has grown this term after making his Brazil bow.
In Friday’s 5-0 win over Bolivia, the Villa man played the entire 90 minutes alongside world-class names such as Neymar, Philippe Coutinho and Thiago Silva.

He also managed to keep Liverpool’s Fabinho – a man who plays a similar role to him – on the sidelines.
Let’s see what the Villa fans on Twitter have been saying about that pesky buyback clause, however…
