Moussa Sissoko has posted on his Instagram story ‘I am with you’ after Son Heung-min received potential worrying news about his facial injury.

Tottenham posted on their official Twitter account on Wednesday evening that Son will ‘undergo surgery to stabilise a fracture around his left eye’

The 30-year-old was forced off injured during Tottenham’s stunning 2-1 win over Marseille in the Champions League on Tuesday night that booked their ticket to the knockout stages.

Antonio Conte’s side have a number of big games coming up, including a crucial clash against Liverpool at the weekend, before they face Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup next week and round off their pre-World Cup matches by taking on Leeds United.

Given that the 2022 World Cup is around the corner, then players do worry about how the smallest of knocks could affect them.

Son is no different, as his former Spurs teammate and now Nice midfielder, Moussa Sissoko, reacted to his injury news on his Instagram story by posting; ‘I am with you, my friend.’

MASKED SON

Tottenham fans, and Son himself, will be hoping that possibly donning a mask will allow the £22 million star (Guardian) to return to action sooner rather than later.

If this does affect him, then a number of people in South Korea won’t be pleased given how important he is to them.

Whilst the versatile forward hasn’t found the spark that saw him win the Golden Boot last season, he is still a dangerous customer to deal with.

And perhaps he needs the 2022 World Cup to find that consistent form again, before unleashing it all on the Premier League stage after Christmas.
