Liverpool fans have been left concerned after Joachim Low announced that he would step down as German manager next year.
There has always been a sense around Liverpool that Jurgen Klopp’s next job could be to take over his national side.
It was anticipated that Germany would be looking for a new manager after the World Cup in 2022.
However, Low has now announced plans to step down a year earlier than anticipated.
And there is a fear around Liverpool that Klopp could be the man that Germany target to take over.
It still remains to be seen whether Klopp would actually be interested in the job, even if it was offered to him.
But Liverpool are going through a difficult patch currently, meaning a change of environment may seem more appealing to the manager than it would have just a few months ago.
Klopp has the full backing of Liverpool’s board, the Athletic report, so if he does depart Anfield soon then the decision is set to be in his hands, as the Reds won’t push him out.
