Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has told the club’s official website that a good pre-season has made the difference for him this term.
Sissoko, 28, joined Spurs on deadline day in August 2016 following Newcastle United’s relegation to the Championship, but he arrived with major question marks over his ability having struggled in his final season with the Magpies.
The French international, who starred at Euro 2016, failed to impress with Spurs last term, and whilst many expected him to leave over the summer, he remained in North London.

Now, injuries to Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama have given Sissoko a chance to play in central midfield, or further forward to support Harry Kane, and he is enjoying his best spell with Spurs.
Sissoko not only impressed against West Ham United in the Premier League last week, but also against APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League in midweek, giving fans belief that he could turn his Tottenham career around.
Reuniting with former Toulouse team-mate Serge Aurier appears to have been a boost both on and off the pitch for Sissoko, and he is in contention to start against Huddersfield on Saturday.

Ahead of that game, Sissoko has told the Tottenham official website that he feels a good pre-season made a big difference this season, with his confidence building game by game.
Sissoko added that he is ‘very happy’ right now, and wants to improve even further having earned praise for his recent performances.
“Since the beginning of the season I’m playing a lot and I’m happy. Like I said, I had a good pre-season so that has made a difference. Then when you play you get more confidence game by game and it’s easier to play with these players. I’m very happy at the moment and I hope to improve more. It’s a great moment for me and I want it to keep going like that. I will try to do more and more every game. The season is still long and I need to stay focused, train hard and to give everything.”
