Writing in The Athletic’s discussion session after Leeds’ match against Fulham on Friday, Phil Hay has shared how many signings he’s been told Leeds will make this summer.

The journalist is one of the most well-connected reporters covering the Elland Road outfit, and his word on this sort of thing is usually very reliable.

Hay says that he’s been told that Leeds will look at signing around five players in the summer window.

“I’m told they’ll look at signing around five players in the summer. The numbers can’t be wild because a) good players at this level are expensive and b) if Bielsa stays on, he doesn’t like massive overhauls. But I think we can all see what needs to be done,” Hay wrote.

This is certainly an exciting update, especially when you consider what’s been said in the past.

Angus Kinnear has previously said that the Whites will only be looking to sign world-class talent going forwards, so if there are five players coming in, the Yorkshire club will be competing at the top table very soon.

Of course, it depends who these signings are, but Leeds are clearly a very ambitious club and they’re targeting top players to add to their squad.

It seems as though Leeds will once again be one of the most intriguing clubs to follow in the upcoming transfer window.
