Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared what he’s heard about Aston Villa’s transfer budget for the summer window.
Villa have been big spenders for the past couple of years, and it seems as though they’re set to repeat the trick this summer.
What’s been said?
Castles was speaking about Villa’s position going into this transfer window, and he has been told that Villa have a substantial budget to work with.
“Aston Villa, actually have, I’m told, a substantial budget to work with, they’re actually one of the better-placed teams post-covid,” Castles said.
“This week they’ve signed Buendia for £33m from Norwich, that’s kind of a half replacement for Grealish, is how it’s been described to me.”

Another spending spree
Villa have spent massively over the past two years, and it seems as though they could do the same again.
Buendia has already broken their club transfer record, but it seems as though they may still have a few more big deals lined up.
Villa have been linked to so many talented players in recent weeks, including the aforementioned Emile Smith Rowe, so it will be interesting to see what they do this summer.
The Midlands club are certainly a team to keep an eye on heading into this window.
