Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has shared some bad news about Oliver Skipp ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.
The midfielder unfortunately picked up an injury in training ahead of Tottenham’s friendly against Rangers last month, and sadly, the injury is worse than first feared.
Indeed, while Skipp’s heel injury was initially thought to just be a deep cut that required stitches, further inspection has revealed that the midfielder has actually suffered a small fracture on his heel, which may keep him out for three weeks.
What’s been said?
Gold gave an update on Skipp, and it wasn’t one for the squeamish.
“The stud went right through the skin it was a really gruesome injury. I said before that all of the teammates were looking away because it was a deep cut that required a lot of stitches. Initially, they thought that was the only issue and it was a case of stitches and healing, but since then they’ve found a miniscule hairline fracture in his heel, from what I’m told is that he’ll be out for roughly two to three weeks which is a pain in the backside for him,” Gold said.

Lacking depth
As strange as this sounds, all of a sudden Spurs are lacking depth in the midfield.
Yves Bissouma is reportedly a doubt heading into the first game of the season, Skipp is set for a few weeks out and that leaves Spurs with limited options.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur are both likely to start, but if either of those two pick up an injury then Antonio Conte may well be in a spot of bother.
Let’s just hope that Skipp’s recovery goes well and he’s back in action as soon as possible.
