Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has shared some insight into Raheem Sterling’s mindset amid ongoing transfer speculation.
It’s no secret that Sterling has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City. He’s started just three league games all season and he’s been linked to the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona as of late.
Jones says that Sterling simply can’t believe how quickly he’s been cast aside by Pep Guardiola and he’s starting to consider his options.
What’s been said?
Jones shared what he knows about Sterling.
“He’s frustrated there’s no doubt about it. He’s starting to consider his options. He will refuse to stand still in his career at this point. He can’t believe, I’m told, that it’s come to this so quickly from being such a key member of Pep Guardiola’s starting XI to a fringe player,” Jones said.
“He’s still the player he was a year ago, Guardiola will spot tiny flaws in a player’s game which, to be fair, do sometimes turn out to be the beginning of a player dwindling off. He’s made plenty of big decisions to axe people or sell people at Man City where he’s turned out to be right. There’s no way he’ll stay at Man City beyond this season if he can get an opportunity elsewhere.”

A great signing to be made
If Sterling is to move in the near future then there is a great signing to be made by someone.
Whether it’s Arsenal, Barcelona or even Newcastle United, Sterling would be an asset at any club he moves to.
Yes, he’s not been at his best over the past year, but his performances at Euro 2020 show just how talented Sterling is.
Sterling could be a great signing for any club.
