Transfer expert Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Newcastle have ‘made their move’ to sign Juventus outcast Aaron Ramsey. The Welshman is expected to leave, with Max Allegri confirming as much on Wednesday.
Ramsey, 31, has struggled to shine since the return of Allegri as manager. Juventus are keen to offload those that are on high wages, but failing to get into the side, and the 71-time Wales international falls into that category.
The ex-Arsenal star has entered the final 18 months of his contract at Juventus, though it is unclear how much Juve would want in terms of a transfer fee. What is clear, is that Allegri wants him to be sold.
Allegri said, as per TuttoMercatoWEB: “Ramsey is back today after we gave him days off to work in England and do a differentiation there. However, he is an outgoing player. So, let’s make it clear.”
Now, Give Me Sport reporter Jones says he has been told that Newcastle have made their move to bring Ramsey to the club. Of course, it is only a matter of time before the Toon announce the signing of Kieran Trippier.
“From what I’m told, Newcastle have made their move for Aaron Ramsey. They know that Juve are willing to let him go in this window for almost nothing,” Jones said, on Give Me Sport’s website.

Newcastle need to make new signings all over the park. Central defenders, a left-back, midfielders and cover for both Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson who are injured. Trippier is a brilliant start for Eddie Howe.
Ramsey would be the next step. A huge coup, a player with enormous ability and experience – but also a player that knows the Premier League. He has the perfect mix of aggression and quality, for a relegation fight.
Can Newcastle convince Ramsey? Perhaps on an initial loan deal, or a permanent one that includes a relegation release clause. The signing of Trippier is a signal of intent, and might tempt Ramsey.
