It has been reported that Carlo Ancelotti is a huge admirer of Richarlison and would be keen to sign him at Real Madrid as a replacement for the exit-linked Karim Benzema.

With the Frenchman’s future up in the air due to the growing speculation about his move to Saudi club Al-Ittihad, the Tottenham Hotspur forward may be in contention to take his place, as per journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon.

Considering Carlo Ancelotti and Richarlison worked in tandem at Evetron, perhaps the pair could be reunited if Karim Benzema decides to call it a day at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti could sign Richarlison to replace Karim Benzema

The former Watford goalscorer has been mocked for scoring a mere goal in the Premier League season, while costing £60 million (Sky Sports).

Even when the 26-year-old did score a late equaliser against Liverpool, Diogo Jota bagged the winner seconds later, making his goal as well as his animated celebration a laughing stock online.

However, it seems like Carlo Ancelotti has full faith in Richarlison as a player and would like to sign him in the event that Karim Benzema leaves Real Madrid.

“Ancelotti’s preferences in case Benzema leaves, well, I’m told they are Richarlison and Harry Kane. This is information, not my opinion, at least as far as Richarlison is concerned. “

“He averaged, I think 12-13 goals in the Premier League in the seasons he was at Everton. Not all of them were with Ancelotti on the bench logically and he is a player that he knows well, and I imagine he knows what he can give and therefore he feels comfortable.”

It has also been claimed that the fee in place is also another reason why Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti may have his sights set on Richarlison to come in for Karim Benzema.

“Another of the advantages that Ancelotti would see when it comes to being an option that the club could consider is that the price of Richarlison would be €40-45m, no more. This season he has been a regular substitute at Tottenham and is a player who would have a lower market value if he were to leave.”

“We must remember that he was the starting striker for Brazil in the last World Cup but this season he has done has been very poor in terms of numbers. One goal in the Premier League and two goals in the Champions League. Extremely low figures.”

Ultimately, however, it has been said that as much as Carlo Ancelotti may admire Richarlison, Real Madrid may not go ahead with his addition, especially to succeed an all-time great like Karim Benzema.

“I think that would complicate his candidacy when it comes to deciding which striker Madrid will sign. I think it would complicate it a lot, but he is a player that Ancelotti likes a lot and if the club asks Ancelotti, it will surely find this name.”
