Fabrizio Romano has told the Que Golazo podcast that the relationship between Antonio Conte and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has “no problems”. Romano says Fabio Paratici is crucial to that, at Tottenham.

The feel-good factor is back at Tottenham after Saturday evening’s incredible 3-2 win over Manchester City. It comes after Conte suggested he was frustrated last week at his side’s activity in the January window.

The Italian has since defended his comments, questioning why there is a problem – and then stating on Saturday that the Spurs squad is one of the best he has worked with. Summer signings are now expected.

Romano was asked on the CBS Soccer’s Que Golazo podcast about the relationship between Conte and Levy. He says he has been told of no issues, and that Conte joined Spurs with the knowledge January would be quiet.

“From what I’m told, Antonio was told that January was not going to be easy. When he signed with Spurs, the message was clear, the rebuilding will be in the summer. It is never easy in January,” Romano said.

“His relationship with Daniel Levy is normal, he has no problems. Fabio Paratici is Italian, and this is helping in the communication with Levy and plans for the future. The summer will be so important.”

While the additions of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have impressed in the first few games – Tottenham need more. The club require a left-sided centre-back, a right wing-back, a midfielder and a striker.

One that is happy to cover Harry Kane. Perhaps another goalkeeper, too. One that can rival Hugo Lloris, who did make another mistake to concede to Ilkay Gundogan – after two howlers against Wolves.

However, Spurs remain in the top-four hunt and a win over Burnley on Wednesday night will give them some real belief after three defeats.
