Speaking on The Blind Gooner YouTube Channel, Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Alexandre Lacazette’s future and his recent levels in training.
The French striker’s contract is about to enter its final year, so understandably, there has been speculation about his future at the club.
Romano had an update on his future, claiming that he will be sold if he doesn’t sign a new deal this summer, and that Juventus could be a potential suitor.
“This is an interesting situation because last summer he had an opportunity with Atletico Madrid, he was one of the options, but they decided to sign different players,” Romano said.
“For sure the situation of his contract is like ‘ok, we either extend the contract in the summer, or the player is leaving.’ Just because they can’t have the risk of him going for free.
“Let’s see also the situation of Italian clubs, because Lacazette was appreciated with Juventus, but they are happy with Morata.”

Romano then gave an update on Arsenal’s stance on Lacazette, claiming that they’re very happy with how he’s playing and also importantly, pleased with how he’s been doing in training.
“At the moment Arsenal are happy with his performances, his mentality also in training because also I’m told that he’s training so well in the last weeks and everything.”
It’s great to hear that Lacazette is training well, but it’s worrying to hear that his future may be in doubt.
Of course, if Arsenal are happy with his performances, you wouldn’t imagine it will be long before they do offer him new terms, but if there are clubs like Juventus circling, he could have his head turned.
However, what is important is the here and now, and it seems as though Lacazette is on top of his game at the moment, impressing the higher-ups in training.
