Speaking on the Don Robbie YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the board at Tottenham admire Marcel Sabitzer heading into the summer transfer window.

Sabitzer has been linked to Tottenham for some time now, but as ever, a change in manager can always alter a club’s transfer strategy.

However, Romano maintains that Sabitzer still has his admirers at Tottenham despite the fact Jose Mourinho, who was a big fan of Sabitzer, has left the club.

What’s been said?

Romano says that people at board level appreciate Sabitzer and that there could be an opportunity for him to move to Spurs this summer.

“He’s a fantastic player. He is perfect for the Premier League this is what Mourinho was thinking. Mourinho wanted him at Tottenham last year, he was one of his first targets, but I’m told that he’s appreciated by the board in general, it was not just Mourinho, so he could be an opportunity at Tottenham.”

Bargain

Sabizter is a player Tottenham simply have to be looking at.

Regardless of who their manager is, Sabitzer would be an absolute asset in this Tottenham team.

The Athletic recently reported that the Austrian will be available for just £13m this summer, and for a player of his calibre, that’s an absolute bargain.

Whether or not Tottenham get this move over the line remains to be seen, but if people on the board like him, there’s every chance he could be headed to north London this summer.
