Andy Hinchcliffe has told Sky Sports, during their live coverage of Leeds United’s last match, that he was shocked by Marcelo Bielsa’s decision to leave Kalvin Phillips on against Crystal Palace.
Phillips was clearly struggling with injury against Palace late on, but Leeds tried to nurse him through the contest.
In the end the decision backfired as Phillips collapsed to the floor just before full-time and had to be taken off.
There are now fears that Phillips could be out for a considerable amount of time.
And Hinchcliffe couldn’t understand why Bielsa didn’t just substitute the 25-year-old earlier.
“I’m surprised they left him on,” Hinchcliffe admitted. “He clearly had some kind of injury and he is so important to them. To play another 15 minutes didn’t make any sense.
“Let’s hope he’s not too badly injured and doesn’t have to miss too many games.”

If Phillips is out for a while then it will be a major blow to Leeds, as he is so important to them.
Their results took a turn for the worse last time Phillips was sidelined, as they have very few options in their squad who can replace him.
Leeds have now won three on the bounce, after beating Palace 2-0 on Monday.
