Manchester United captain Harry Maguire explained that he still has plenty of work to do on his already refined repertoire.
Speaking to the club website, Maguire openly admitted he had room to develop, despite his status amongst the Premier League’s finest players.
He made Gary Neville’s Team of the Season last year, after leading United to second place behind Manchester City.
The 28-year-old made 52 appearances across all competitions in 2020/21; only four of his teammates played more games.
His tally would have certainly been higher had he not picked up an injury against Aston Villa in early May.
After being sidelined for four weeks, Maguire returned just in time for the knockout stage of England’s European Championship run.
Gareth Southgate instantly reinstalled the Red Devils centre-back, to the full benefit of his nation.

But for all his great work over the past 12 months, the Old Trafford skipper said he still had space to grow.
“I’m still improving as a player and I feel like we’re developing as a team as well and that’s the most important thing – developing and winning football matches,” said Maguire.
“It’s only two years into my Manchester United career and I fully expect to be here for a lot longer.”
How can Maguire progress?
United signed the centre-half from Leicester City in 2019 for £80m (BBC), a world-record fee for a defender.

Maguire has since gone some way to repaying that price tag.
Although to truly reimburse his employers, he needs to lift a trophy before too long.
He missed out on the Europa League final due to the ankle problem.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also earned an unwanted record of losing in semi-finals.
There is great optimism that United can overcome their curse and regain some silverware.
With Maguire potentially about to partner up with Raphael Varane, those odds have certainly increased.
