Alan Brazil says it ‘makes sense’ for Burnley manager Vincent Kompany to become Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager if Antonio Conte leaves.

The talkSPORT presenter has previously shared that he had been told that Spurs are considering the Manchester City legend ahead of the new season.

Conte’s contract at Hotspur Way is due to expire in the summer and there doesn’t seem to be any signs that the Italian is going to stay on board.

Defeats to AC Milan, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest in the cup competitions haven’t helped matters, especially their FA Cup exit to a second-string Paul Heckingbottom side.

It also didn’t help matters that Conte started Kane on the bench for their defeat to the Blades, which just put further scrutiny on the manager because he can’t point towards other issues when making that call.

Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what road Daniel Levy does go down if he has to bring in a new face in the summer, with Alan Brazil sharing his thoughts, as he told talkSPORT (14/03/23).

“I thought about it and said ‘yeah, it does make sense’,” said Brazil. “He (Kompany) is doing a brilliant job, isn’t he?!”

“I’m sorry Burnley fans, it might not be 100% accurate. But the guy who told me. I respect.”

BURNLEY ON THE CHARGE

The runaway leaders in the Championship were at it again on Wednesday night, this time seeing off Hull City to secure points number 83 for the season.

As of this moment, they are well on course to hit the 100+ points mark, which would be a remarkable achievement.

However the season ends for Kompany and his players, the manner in which he is getting them promoted and his style of football has already won him plaudits and raised his profile as a manager even further.
