Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has admitted to Sky Sports that he is absolutely shattered after last night’s game against Chelsea.

Arsenal ran out 1-0 winners at Stamford Bridge yesterday, with Smith Rowe scoring the only goal of the game.

The Gunners scored early and then defended their lead for the large majority of the contest.

The tactic required Mikel Arteta’s men to work extremely hard defensively to keep their shape.

Arsenal’s players looked exhausted at full-time, after the efforts that they had put in.

And Smith Rowe admitted that he was worn out in his post match interview.

“I’m so tired,” he said. “But I feel like the team, we played well today. We looked tired at times, but we had to dig deep and we’re happy with the three points today.”

Smith Rowe does at least have a week to recover from his latest exertions.

Arsenal’s next game comes against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday.

The Gunners’ win last night has at least kept their hopes of having European football on offer next season alive, but they will surely have to win their last two remaining games this season to have any chance of moving up the table.
