Some Liverpool fans are reacting on Twitter to Everton boss Rafael Benitez bringing in Salomon Rondon on transfer deadline day.

Rondon has signed a two-year contract at Everton as a free transfer after previously being signed by the Spanish coach at Newcastle United.

It was a very quiet day on the transfer front at Liverpool, with Ibrahima Konate’s arrival in May being the only player to join Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer.

And here’s how some Reds fans reacted to their Merseyside rivals snapping up a striker.

Understandable frustration

Rondon also impressed under Benitez at Newcastle, where he scored 12 Premier League goals in 33 games for the St James’s Park club.

It wasn’t a brilliant return, but it was in the context of the Magpies’ supporting players and given that Everton have a lot more flair, the big striker could, in theory, score more this time around.

You can understand Liverpool fans’ frustrations.

After all, they could probably do with a number nine, what with Roberto Firmino’s inconsistency in front of goal – and current injury – and Diogo Jota blowing hot and cold.

Divock Origi staying at Anfield pretty much killed any chance of Klopp bringing in another centre forward and Liverpool will have to make do with the Belgian as a third-choice option if needs be.
