Tottenham Hotspur will learn their opponents for the last 16 of the Champions League today at 11am.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane spoke to reporters about today’s Champions League draw, both insisting that they would prefer to be drawn against one of Europe’s elite clubs, as quoted by Sky Sports.
Tottenham have been nothing short of magnificent on the continent this season, winning their group – one that consisted of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, with relative ease, after taking 16 points from their six games played.
The Lilywhites have not been quite so strong domestically, however, and currently sit in sixth position in the Premier League table, 18 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s rampant Manchester City side.
With such a big deficit to claw back in the league, Spurs’ best chance for a major trophy might just be the Champions League, as strange as that seems.

The draw for the knockout stages of Europe’s premier competition takes place in Switzerland today at 11am GMT, and Kane told reporters how he is not scared of any team left in the draw, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“When we have been in the group we have been in with Real Madrid and Dortmund and we have done as well as we have, I know people say it a lot that we don’t fear anyone, but to go far in the Champions League you are going to have to play the best teams in Europe so we will see who we get.”
And Pochettino backed up the striker’s words:
“I’m so brave and like to play against the big teams. I love to play against Real Madrid, the big teams, of course. I love the challenge and to challenge the best as I’m a winner. You can see the game against Real Madrid I prefer to play against a team that will motivate everyone rather than a team all people say you will beat easily, then it gets complicated.”
After Spurs took four points from two games against Real Madrid, and comfortably beat Dortmund both home and away, it is little wonder that both Poch and Kane are so bullish when it comes to potential opponents for the last 16 draw.
