Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Emile Smith Rowe being sent back to his club early because of illness.

The 21-year-old was hoping to start England U21’s Euro 2023 qualifier against Kosovo on Tuesday – they ended up winning 2-0 in his absence.

But instead, manager Lee Carsley, in his first competitive game in charge, had to be without the Hale-End academy product.

It has been suggested that Smith-Rowe’s illness, not related to COVID, means that he is a doubt to face Norwich at the weekend, as reported by the Metro.

Arsenal fans, understandably, haven’t taken to the news well because they have had enough to deal with as it is.

Smith Rowe is such a crucial creative talent in Arsenal’s side and him possibly being absent on Saturday would be a major blow.

The expert ball-carrier has showcased his bravery to get on the ball in difficult situations, be forward-thinking and drive his team forward.

Even though the Gunners are facing a newly-promoted team, it needs to be remembered that it’s them who sit bottom of the Premier League table.

There is no pressure on Daniel Farke’s side going into this game and all the heat on the under-performing players in North London.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Arsenal fans reacting to the Smith Rowe news:
