Heung-Min Son has apologised to Tottenham Hotspur fans after their defeat to Manchester United yesterday, as per his comments to the club’s official website.

The tale of the game was a familiar one for Tottenham supporters, who have seen their side throw away leads all too often this season.

Spurs went into the break 1-0 up, but barely got out of the blocks in the second period, as United turned the screw.

Tottenham’s defeat leaves them six points outside the top four, with their chances of playing Champions League football next season now looking very slim.

And Son was very upset after the game, in his interview with the club’s official website.

He said: “I’m really disappointed this afternoon, I don’t know what to say. I’m really sorry about it. I feel bad.

“It’s been always passionate from outside this stadium, with people supporting us. They are more disappointed than us. I feel really bad and sorry about it. It’s a really sad afternoon.”

If there was one player who didn’t really need to apologise to Tottenham fans after yesterday it was Son.

He was the man who fired Tottenham ahead with a tidy finish, but his good work was undone.

Tottenham are now surely likely to need to win all seven of their remaining fixtures to have any chance of making the gap back up to the top four.
