Lukasz Fabiański has stated on his Instragam that he is ‘really sorry’ for the part he played in West Ham’s 3-2 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.

With the Hammers flying high and dreaming of the Champions League, they were hit with a body blow at St James’ Park yesterday.

In less than ten minutes, West Ham shot themselves in the foot, with Craig Dawson seeing red moments before Issa Diop’s own goal.

Before West Ham’s £7 million (BBC Sport) man between the sticks didn’t help matters when he dropped the ball straight into the path of Joelinton following a corner.

David Moyes’ men did come out fighting from that 2-0 scoreline during the second period, and whilst they were level, it didn’t last long because Joe Willock sealed all the points for his relegation-threatened team.

And after the game, this is what their Polish shot-stopper had to say to the West Ham supporters:

For West Ham, it’s a case of dusting themselves down and going again because there isn’t much room to feel sorry for themselves.

They are still sitting fourth in the table, albeit some teams below them have games in hand, but you’d rather have the points on the board, at this stage.

Next up for the Hammers is an all-London clash against Chelsea, who are one place and one point below them in the table, but they have that crucial game in hand.
